Recently, many citizens have found that the camera, lamp and power box poles that used to stand along the footpaths at Moon Harbor and those around Jinji Lake have been replaced by new ones.

This is part of the efforts to improve the infrastructure around Jinji Lake. The project is being carried out by Suzhou Intelligent Network Technology Development Co Ltd under the authorization of SIP Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau. The company tailored the plan for the project after a series of surveys on similar projects in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chengdu.

“The intelligent pole integrates the functions of illumination, information release, video surveillance, monitoring for preventing drowning, and 5G base stations,” said an executive from the company.

According to the company, the charging function has been added to the poles at several parking lots, and smart humidification and other functions may be added in the future.

So far, 1,000 intelligent poles have been set up in the area surrounding Jinji Lake, and devices are being installed on them. After the completion of the whole project, the number of poles in the area will reduce by over 750, and more spaces will be made for other purposes.

It is notable that, the LED lights on the poles are detachable and therefore are more convenient for maintenance. They are brighter than the old lighting devices under the same power supply, and can be used longer.
