Ten young people received the “housing coupons” at the conference held in SIP on Mar 14 for the purpose of encouraging young talents to make innovations and start their own businesses. The coupons will allow them to save tens of thousands of yuan when buying a house in SIP.

SIP has been pushing forward the construction of housing projects that provide high-quality apartments for non-local talents at favorable prices. It announced the policy to provide the “housing coupons” earlier this year. Under the policy, a talent who does not own a house in SIP and has paid into the social insurance fund in SIP for at least six months can get a “housing coupon” of RMB70,000 to 250,000 based on academic degree for buying a house from the designated residential quarters.

“I learned about the policy from the Internet, so I tried to submit an application and then I got a subsidy of RMB70,000,” Chen Houxiu said excitedly. Chen, who moved from Shenzhen of South China’s Guangdong province to SIP in 2023 due to a job transfer, is one of the first beneficiaries of the policy.

SIP offers the highest subsidy for house purchase in Suzhou. The “housing coupon” could be directly redeemed for deduction from the initial payment for a house.

According to SIP Planning and Construction Committee, 138 such coupons worth RMB17.38 million have been given out so far.
