SIP hosted an event on June 4 to mark the World Environment Day that is annually observed worldwide on June 5 to encourage awareness of and action for environmental protection. Efforts and achievements that SIP made in 2024 in environmental protection were showcased at the event.

Over the past years, SIP has made constant efforts to harmonize production, living and ecological improvement, and these efforts have paid off with continuously improved energy, resource and environment management.

A multi-department collaboration mechanism has been adopted and an ecological civilization practice and education base has been established to promote the spread of environmental awareness among the public, and various events and campaigns have been organized to boost local residents’ enthusiasm for participating in environmental protection. A volunteer team has been formed to serve diverse environmental campaigns.

SIP also encourages people from all walks of life and organizations in all sectors to help improve environment. Recently, SIP Bureau of Ecology and Environment and the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department of the CPC SIP Working Committee jointly selected 10 typical cases as examples for pollution and carbon emission reduction.

At the event, six representatives from different fields shared their experiences of doing their bit in environmental protection.
