A 24-member media delegation from Latin America and the Caribbean visited SIP on Sept 10, embarking on their three-day tour in East China’s Jiangsu province. The tour is expected to enhance friendly exchanges between Jiangsu and Latin America and the Caribbean in trade, culture, education and other fields.

In SIP, the guests visited King Long United Automotive Industry (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a industry-leading bus manufacturer. At its exhibition center, they gained a holistic picture of the company’s evolution from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing and the upgrading of its products from conventional vehicles to new energy ones.

The delegation members also tried a ride in the Fencer f1 electric bus developed by Higer Bus, a brand under the company. Buses of this kind have been exported to Latin America.

A journalist from the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian shared that over 100 Higer buses are already in use in her country, with an additional 100 ordered for 2026. She hoped her country would import more electric and intelligent buses to support environmental goals, saying that China’s advanced practices in scientific and technological research and intelligent manufacturing had offered valuable experience for industrial upgrading in Latin American countries.
