TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT), a Chinese display panel manufacturer, launched the effort on Sept 13 to set up an innovation center dedicated to mini/micro light emitting diode (MLED) displays in SIP.

The project marks the commencement of TCL CSOT’s strategic deployment for its third technological focus—MLED, following LCD and OLED. It is expected to help boost vitality of global display industry and propel it into a new phase.

Currently, debugging and technical verification are going on in an orderly manner. The project is expected to come into operation late this month.

TCL CSOT claims to leverage its independent R&D capabilities to address common problems in MLED development, such as uneven image quality, and by optimizing self-developed algorithms, promote the development of low-carbon and energy-efficient products.
